Phase one of the largest Desalination Plant and Seawater intake facilities of the country, with 20,000 m3 capacity per day, was inaugurated in presence of the first Vice-President, Minister of Energy, and managing director of Farab Co. on December 11 (2018) in Bandar Abbas, supported by private sector.

According to Public Relations of Farab Co., the largest Desalination Plant and Seawater intake facilities of the country in Bandar Abbas, with 20,000 m3 capacity per day, was implemented with contribution of of «Shaya» – representative of Farab Co. , Tana Energy Co. , Tiv Energy Co. , and Machine Sazy Vijeh Co.

 The purpose of this project is to produce part of the drinking water needed in Bandar Abbas from Persian Gulf.

At the end of phase one, this project has the capacity of producing 20,000 m3 drinking water per day, equal to 230 liters per second, which reaches to 100,000 m3 per day after the final phase.
