Iran´s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Visits Tana H.P.P in Kenya

Minister of industry mine and trade of Islamic Republic of Iran, in his trip to Kenya, visited “Tana Hydro Power Plant” which has been constructed by Farab co. in this country.

According to Public Relations of Farab co., on July 17, 2016, engineer “Mohammad Reza Nemat Zadeh”, minister of industry, mine and trade, who headed a delegation of Iranian businessmen and traders to attend the fourteenth conference of the “UNCTAD” (The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), visited Tana Hydro Power Plant with coordination and invitation of Farab, during his trip to Kenya.

During this visit, while expressing his appreciation of Farab efforts in Kenya, Mr.Nemat Zadeh declared that the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran supports Farab co. and other Iranian companies to get more projects outside Iran.

In this report it is also mentioned that: Farab co. was construction contractor of “25 MW Tana Hydro Power Plant” which is located at 85 km northeast of Nairobi, Kenya capital.

Kenya is regarded as the most strategic East African country. In addition to Tana power plant project, Farab co. has completed its second project in this country, “Kindaruma Civil Work and Hydromechanic Power Station”, and delivered to the client in 2013.

Successful and principle-based implementation of these projects as well as high technical and engineering capabilities of Farab co. made it the winner of the competition with well-known international contractors in the tender of “Terem Hydro Power Plant” construction project. Operational works of this 5 MW power plant, which is the third project of Farab co. in Kenya, were launched in the winter of 2014.
