Visit of 17 Foreign Ambassadors to Siah Bisheh Dam & Power Plant Project |
|
| |
17 ambassadors from foreign countries paid a visit to Siah Bisheh Pump Storage Power Plant and Dam site on May 10.
Managing director of Iran Water & Power Resources Development Company introduced Siah Bisheh pump storage power plant and dam project and added: This huge project is implemented by Iranian experts in both designing and operational Phases.
He further added: We could implement huge projects in water and electrical industry of our company through cooperation of renowned engineers and Iranian companies. Our expert manpower is fully ready for implementation of hydroelectric projects in other countries.
The delegation visited different sections of Siah Bisheh pump storage power plant and dam site and gate acquainted with the implementation operation process of this project.
Siah Bisheh pump storage power plant and dam site is located in 125 Km of north side of Tehran adjacent to Siah Bisheh Village and is being constructed over Chalous River and for this reason it is called after the same name.
This project has two upper and lower dams. Whenever power generation in power plants is more than its consumption, the water accumulated in the lower dam is pumped to the upper dam through consumption of the surplus electricity of the network and is stored there. During the times in which electricity consumption is more than generation capacity of power plants of the country, Siah Bisheh Power Plant generates power using the water storage of the upper dam. Among the general objectives of this project we can point to balance in consumable electricity network of the country in peak and low load hours, generation of hydroelectric power with a capacity of 1040 MW and consumption of electric energy with a capacity of 960 MW.
Low environmental, economic and social degradation impacts as well as damage of reservoirs are the remarkable specifications of pump storage power plant of Iran. |

Memorandum of Understanding for Small & Middle Power Plants Construction was exchanged between Iran Water & Power Resources Development Company and Farab Company based on BOT Method |
|
| |
This Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged with Farab Company for the purpose of strategic policies of Ministry of Energy and in order to use private sector potentials.
The most important objectives of small and middle power plans construction is to supply power for subscribers, to reduce power cut and losses, to increase economic output and productivity, to pay attention to deprived regions of the country and to direct private sector investment toward production of minor power plants with high economic justification.
Based on the primary investigations carried out by previous consultants, it is estimated that the power resulting from the said 120 power plants shall be 415 megawatts and the resulting energy would be 1702 gigawatt hours. Since these studies were performed in previous years, for the purpose of being sure from the authenticity of their information, the existing reports need to be reviewed and in this case, the review of some power plants have been started by Farab Company.
Since Farab Company is intended to direct its activity towards localization of designing of power plant main systems, including turbine, generator, governor and …, the priority for design and construction of the said power plants is employing domestic experts. For this purpose, the design of main mechanical systems of Mehrian II Project from Kohkilouyeh & Boyerahmad Package of 2007 was started in Farab Group Companies by Touba Company.
At present, turbine drawings, including runner, shaft, Distributer, draft tube and affiliated equipment have been prepared and ready for construction. |
