Multipurpose Development Project in Sri Lanka with a length of 1529 m was successfully completed by Farab Company.<\/p>\n<p>According to Public Relations of Farab Co., \u201cPashoutan Dezfouli\u201d, Uma Oya Project Manager, announced the news and said: the excavation of Headrace tunnel of Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project in Sri Lanka, one of the longest water transmission tunnels of this country, was successfully completed by Farab Company .<\/p>\n<p>Dezfouli added: the excavation operations was completed by two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM), one from the inlet section and the other from the outlet section at the junction of these two machines.<\/p>\n<p>He continued: this tunnel is one of the few long water transmission tunnels of the world in which there is no middle access to map control.<\/p>\n<p>Uma Oya project manager added: this tunnel is part of Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project that transfer water from tank of the second dam to Hydro Power Plant of the project.<\/p>\n<p>The report adds: Uma Oya multipurpose project is regarded as one of the greatest technical and engineering service projects of Iranian companies, EPC contractor of which is Farab Co.<\/p>\n<p>This project which includes two Dyraaba and Puhulpola dams, 120MW Hydro Power Plant and 25km tunnel of water transmission, is located in the south-east of Sri Lanka 200km away from Colombo city.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the project is improving irrigation of 5000 acres agricultural land, transferring 145 milion m3 water and generating 290 GW\/h power in a year.<\/p>\n<div
